Gotta love the perks...

Being pregnant and working in the ultrasound field has its advantages.  I get to peek at baby boy Bourne whenever I feel like it.  In the first trimester I would look almost every day.  At first it was out of fear something was wrong.  When I first squinted at the screen to see a small flicker of a heartbeat, I teared up and couldn't believe I was looking at a new life. I was fascinated by how quickly by blurry fuzz on the screen grew arms and legs and became my miracle baby.  At that point I was looking every other day.  I felt much better after our first official ultrasound but still found it to be too special to pass up.  So  now I am in my 26th week and have cut back to about once a week.  I love watching him cruise around in there.  So here is what I see now a days...

Simone Sydney Grace Leighton

My dear friend Denise and her husband Chris welcomed their sweet angel a  little earlier than expected.  But she is no less than perfect.  She has proven to be a strong little lady just like her momma.  After a couple of weeks in the special care unit...Simone might get to go home tomorrow and make her mom and dad sooo happy.  They are more than ready to have her in their arms and under their care.  So, prayers to Simone and her  parents who will at last feel that their hearts and home are full.  Simone you are so loved!!! Especially by me :)

First timer

Matt and I met on a blind date.  We lived our lives apart for 5 year preparing for the very unexpected reunion that would forever change us. We had a fairy tale wedding and bought a house with a white picket fence.  It didn't take long to expand our family...from one dog to two.
Phoebe and Murphy
It will be 5 years this July since we reunited at the Whiskey Bar.  Since then we have traveled, become home owners, gardeners, wine drinkers, card players, golfers, painters, God parents, and trader joe's patrons.   This past January we learned that we are finally going to become parents!!!  That was the craziest journey we have faced together, and we are stronger for it.

Baby Boy Bourne will be here in October.
Here are a few pictures of him slowly showing himself to the world...

So here we go...pregnant and ready for summer.  Bring on the sunshine, fresh cut flowers, food cravings, and nesting.  You all are going to hear all about it :)
